– “Deepspot” will be a training facility for experienced divers as well as beginners and casual swimmers, set to open this fall
“Deepspot”, as it will be called, will take over the title as the deepest swimming pool in the world. Divers will be able to descend to 45 meters or about 147 feet. Deepspot will be taking the deepest pool title from “Y-40 Deep Joy” in Montegrotto Terme, Italy, which has a depth of 42m. Unfortunately for Deepspot, they will lose the title of “World’s Deepest Swimming Pool”, rather swiftly as the UK has plans for their own divers & swimmers aquatic center. A facility in Colchester called “The Abyss” which will feature a pool with a depth of 50 meters is set to open in early 2020.
It will require the same amount of water used to fill 27-Olympic pools or about 8,000 cubic meters of water. Deepspot is also constructing a viewers bridge that will be used for coaches and trainers that may be monitoring a dive as well as any spectators looking to catch a glimpse of some of the deepest indoor dives in the world.
